Field operations

Today I took the two older kids out to my parents new property to play around and enjoy the great day. Madeline brought her horse Penney and rode the open prairie. Reese however geared up in his army fatigues and stormed the sandy hills. Above are a few of the photos of Reese diving into fox-holes, charging over a ridge and pointing out a possible target. Fun times! Click on any image for larger photo >

Progress report.

Hey, thought I better post a progress report on the ship that Reese and I are building. Man did it get big quick. I really had no idea that it would end up quite so large. I have made some adjustments to the design so it can also serve as a toy bin. (Only redeeming factor about the size of this thing.)
But we have come a long way. The thing has really taken shape. I love working with the wood material I have. It bends to shape well.
I'm jumping ahead of myself a bit with these photos, but I'll post the photos of inside the ships belly later. I have left one side of the bridge open so the boys can still play inside. Kind of like a cross section. The opposite side of part of the bridge opens to allow them to park a chopper in the chopper bay. Click to super-size image.

Reese - AKA Wild Bill
Keep face clear of missiles! Some photos from last summer of Reese at the Camp Ripely museum looking at a AH-1 Cobra helicopter. This was cool for him because uncle Tad has the GI Joe version of the same helicopter. The GI Joe version is called a "Dragonfly" (I guess Cobra was taken) and came with pilot "Wild Bill".

Name that GI Joe
